Baer is an Assistant Professor of Professional Practice in Sport Administration, focused
on providing instruction to students in the sport administration undergraduate program.
He earned is his bachelor's degree in psychology and German from North Central College
in 2018, then went on to pursue his master's degree from Northern Illinois University
in Sport Management, where he graduated in 2020. Upon the completion of his master's,
Baer enrolled at Louisiana State University as a doctoral student in sport management,
completing his doctoral program in the summer of 2023. As a sport industry professional,
Dr. Baer has prior experience as both a wrestling coach and a sales representative
in minor league baseball.
Baer teaches courses throughout the undergraduate sport administration curriculum.
His research interests include the psychological well-being of sport employees, with
a focus on exploring the ways in which sport employees position themselves both in
and outside of the workplace. His work has been published in a variety of publications
including the Journal of Sport Management, the Journal of Global Sport Management, and Case Studies in Sport Management.
