Heather Quiriarte is the Research Manager in the School of Kinesiology at Louisiana
State University where she leads the research operations for the Exercise Physiology
faculty. Prior to joining LSU, she was the lead research assistant in the Immunology
Laboratory at NASA Johnson Space Center where she oversaw all immunology-related laboratory
operations and was deeply involved in the development and initial testing of various
NASA-funded projects designed to mitigate the impact of long duration spaceflight
on the human body.
Heather's master's thesis focused on how stress and aging affect muscle and immune
health, and how exercise can be used as an intervention. Her career goal is to continue
with research management in studies evaluating the holistic effects of exercise training
on the health of individuals of all ages and populations. She thrives to facilitate
research implementation and data dissemination at every stage of the research process.
