Scholarships

The Lutrill & Pearl Payne School of Education is proud to announce the awarding of 144 scholarships for the 2023-2024 academic year, totaling an impressive sum of more than $206,000. These scholarships are dedicated to supporting both incoming and continuing students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, reflecting the commitment to fostering academic excellence.

The scholarships are distributed based on a variety of criteria, including student need, merit, and specific donor criteria. This ensures that the awards align with the diverse needs and accomplishments of the student body.

To facilitate the scholarship search process, LSU utilizes the Blackbaud Award Management (BAM) system, an online platform that serves as a centralized resource for scholarships available both university-wide and within individual colleges. This user-friendly system aids students in identifying and applying for the scholarships that best match their qualifications and aspirations.

For undergraduate students aspiring to benefit from these opportunities, applications are due by March 1, while graduate students have until August 1 to submit their applications. This structured timeline provides ample opportunity for students to explore and apply for the scholarships that align with their academic and career goals.

The Lutrill & Pearl Payne School of Education is dedicated to empowering students through financial support, recognizing the role it plays in fostering a community of excellence and achievement. We encourage all eligible students to take advantage of these scholarship opportunities and contribute to their academic success.

INCOMING STUDENTS

When students complete the LSU admissions application online and select a degree program in the School of Education, the information submitted during the application/acceptance process will be automatically entered into BAM to determine eligibility for potential scholarships university-wide, as well as, within the college.

The priority admissions deadline for scholarship consideration for incoming undergraduate students is December 15. Incoming freshman who are selected for an award will typically be notified in the spring.

Graduate students will be considered for awards based on information provided in their admission application. Timelines vary.

For questions about scholarships awarded by the university, contact the LSU Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships.

In addition to LSU scholarships, Financial Aid & Scholarships also maintains a list of opportunities outside of those offered directly through the university. CHSE also maintains a list of additional scholarship opportunities for teachers. These scholarships are not awarded or administered by LSU. Any questions about these funds should be directed to the sponsoring organization.

Current STUDENTS

Current School of Education students who will be continuing at LSU into the next academic year must submit an online application each year through the BAM system to be considered for university or college-level scholarships.
